Today we were very excited to receive $5,000 from the 2015/16 NSW Government Local Sport Grant Program. This grant will assist our club in providing all new coloured uniforms that will allow our junior players to emulate their cricketing heroes. The Redbacks will be the first junior cricket club in the Penrith region to be wearing full coloured uniforms.
Tanya Davies MP, Member for Mulgoa, was on hand to help us launch the new uniform and to deliver a giant cheque to the excited Redback kids who were stunningly decked out in the new Junior Playing Kit provided exclusively by our sponsorship partner Beastwear.
"AWESOME!" , "comfortable", "nice colours!", "no more grass stains!" and more were overheard at today's launch.
“The very essence of this program created by the Baird Government is to recognise the undeniable talent and dedication emerging from local sporting organisations, the Glenmore Park Cricket Club, whilst highlighting the importance of sport both here in NSW and right across the nation,” Tanya Davies said.
I'd like to thank our secretaries Grant Kean and Adrian D'Agostino for the hard work they both put into the grant submission, lobbying the association and designing the fantastic new uniforms.
